This non-profit organization serves employers and connects adult and youth job seekers to employment and training opportunities. It’s mission is to develop smart workforce solutions and increase economic opportunities for all Philadelphia residents.

Many of the colleges and universities in the Philadelphia region, such as the Community College of Philadelphia, Temple University and Drexel University, offer continuing education courses and professional development programs. The City of Philadelphia also partners with organizations to provide adult learning opportunities.

There are 30 gene-therapy development companies in the Philadelphia area that have raised well over $1 billion in invested capital, and together employ more than 3,000 people.

The 2021 list features 13 companies from the greater Philadelphia area, most of which saw their rankings increase from the previous edition of the Fortune 500.
